Behind the Scenes
Hi, I'm Joshua J. Galus
My name is Joshua Galus—though many know me as Woody Galus, Coach Woody, or simply Coach Galus. I’m a proud U.S. Veteran and have dedicated over 11 years to coaching youth sports, with a strong focus on baseball and softball. My coaching background spans recreational leagues, Little League, travel programs, and middle school athletics.
Currently, I serve as the Head Coach of a 13U travel fastpitch softball team, a coach for middle school softball, and the Vice President of our Middle School Softball Club organization. In addition to team coaching, I work individually with athletes ranging from beginners to collegiate-level players—helping them grow in skill, confidence, and game awareness.
I spent 12 years playing baseball before an injury ended my competitive playing career. I continued to play in adult leagues, but it was through coaching that I found a deeper purpose in the game.
After taking time away to focus on my family—marrying my incredible wife, Tiffany, and raising our three amazing children—I returned to coaching, inspired by my eldest daughter’s involvement in sports. That moment reignited my passion and created a mission: to guide not just her, but both of my daughters, with the same heart and drive I bring to every athlete I coach.
Throughout my journey, I’ve seen the gaps in opportunities, particularly in girls’ softball. Short seasons, limited training, and a lack of hitting and fielding instruction present real challenges. Balancing a team’s development while addressing individual needs is no easy task—but it’s where great coaching makes a difference.
That challenge inspired me to launch Progressive Dynamix, LLC—a company built on purpose, passion, and the belief that every athlete deserves a chance to thrive. Whether I’m working with a beginner just starting their journey or a collegiate athlete fine-tuning their game, my commitment is the same: to help them reach their fullest potential.
As a Veteran, coach, and father, I take pride in serving the community both on and off the field. Coaching, to me, is a calling—one rooted in mentorship, dedication, and a love for helping others succeed. Watching young athletes grow, break through barriers, and surprise themselves with what they can accomplish is the greatest reward. It’s why I show up every single day.
